Hey Jordan,
I know you’ve been stressed with work lately, so I have an idea: come hiking with me, Alex, and Sam this weekend. We’re doing a two-day trip to Blue Mountain, and I think you would love it.
We’re leaving early Saturday morning (around 7 AM) and driving up. The trail we’re doing is the Bruce Trail segment – about 12 kilometres total with some moderate elevation but nothing crazy. The views from the top are incredible, and there’s a beautiful waterfall about halfway that we always stop at for lunch. We’ll camp Saturday night at a designated site near the trail, then finish the hike Sunday morning and drive back by mid-afternoon.
I’m inviting you because you mentioned a few months ago that you wanted to get into hiking but didn’t know where to start. This is a perfect beginner-friendly trip – we go at a relaxed pace, take lots of breaks, and we have all the gear (extra tent, sleeping bag, stove). You literally just need to bring yourself, a backpack, hiking shoes or sturdy sneakers, a water bottle, and snacks to share.
Let me know by Thursday night if you can come. We split gas and parking ($15 each) and can pick you up from your place. If you don’t have hiking shoes, you can borrow my old pair – we wear the same size. No pressure either way, but it would be really great to have you along. I think you’ll find it super refreshing to disconnect for a weekend.
Hope you can make it!
Talk soon,
Riley
